Fantastic Four reboot honest trailer

The problems plaguing the Fantastic Four reboot are well documented, but the honest trailer for the film suggests one positive of the entire affair — a making-of movie about the production would be fascinating.

Screen Junkies’ latest honest trailer takes on this summer’s reboot (after the series already addressed the original Fantastic Four films), reminding everyone of the “moody, awkward, and really, really low energy” version that most recently hit theaters.

The trailer picks apart the reboot’s clearest flaws — underuse of its good cast, supposedly smart characters making horribly dumb decisions, and the superhero movie’s clear desire to not be a superhero movie — but it also doesn’t shy away from the drama surrounding director Josh Trank and Fox’s relationship on the film.

Watch the trailer below to be reminded of the missed opportunity for Marvel’s first family.
